5 Steps: Working with Fireborne to Create a Custom Award Design

Collaboration with our clients is key to meaningful gifts that get the “Wow!” From lobby sculpture to wedding favors, we develop unique proposals around individual clients’ requirements.

Fireborne solutions don’t come out of a catalog. Our first discussion about your project will determine what options and ideas we start with.

Regardless of your budget and scale of your project, in working with you, we follow a five step process.

If you don’t have the luxury of time, but need something distinctive and impressive, we invite you to check here:

1. Learn Your Objectives

During the first conversation about your project, we’ll discuss these key points to develop a shared understanding of the intention.

  • Audience: age and gender are important; client, customer, partner, employee, wedding guest, event attendee

  • Intention: is it an ongoing program; should it tie-in with a destination, theme or motif; determine which of the Fireborne categories of gifts makes the most sense:

  • Schedule and Budget: yes, the crucial detail; also is it more or less than in past years?

  • Likes and Dislikes: insights on the “powers-that-be” within your organization and what is important to them; corporate culture or morale improvement, any notable successes and failures?

  • History: What’s been used in the past? What’s the water-cooler reaction, how have gift cards been received in the past?

2. Propose Design Ideas

Next we develop and propose design ideas for your review. Physical samples and color variations can be shared for a Simply Perfect and Artist Collaboration project. 100% Custom projects involve agreeing on design direction and commitment to developing a sample or engineered drawing.

3. Design and Concept Refinement

The next stage is design and concept refinement of the physical samples or engineered drawings. It’s a time of important collaboration within your own organization to finalize the design, and with Fireborne to consider manufacturability, engineering, and cost. To facilitate approval of the design, a model or prototype may be created.

4. Production Quality Assurance

Selected artists stoke their furnaces, and Fireborne begins to oversee production and quality assurance. We work with a select group of talented American artists, craftspeople and specialty vendors who help us bring your ideas to life.

As each element is complete, we incorporate it into the final design. We can provide progress updates at your preferred cadence.

Specialty packaging is designed and produced at this stage. As more details of your event or ceremony become solidified, Fireborne can recommend thematic elements for the gift packaging.

5. Fulfillment: Fireborne Delivers on the Promise to Wow

Distribution is the final step. We deliver to your office or event, or drop-ship to directly to your recipients. Trust our years of experience packing glass artwork for safe and brilliant arrival. Whenever possible, we use Earth-friendly products.
